We left Salt Lake on a Monday night after one final scare, Elder Cropper's Mom had a bad fall that day and gashed her shin in a huge sweeping arch to the bone. Our farewell dinner with her turned out to be take out food in her apartment. It was heart wrenching to leave her, but there was no helping it. Sweet Shane turned out to be our only and extremely appreciated escort to the airport, and we were off.
Elder Cropper thought you'd be able to see the hills of Hong Kong in the background
Yeehah!! we are in Cebu. After a 30 hour trip, we have never been so happy to see anyone as when we came out of customs and there were President and Sister Schmutz smiling and waving. This is the view out the front of their house on the temple complex, the glorious Cebu temple
I'm in a rush, so I can't share more. We haven't been able to get on line till this morning, and now we are off to our assignment. We head out in minutes with the truck we'll be renting from the church filled with supplies. we have a 3 hour drive, then a ferry ride then we will be in Amlan. Yes, it is getting real. We love this place, we have been thoroughly trained and pampered by the Schmutzes and all here, now we leave the shelter of the temple complex and off we go!!
